The Polar Express

Our Christmas Party consisted of singing songs, eating treats,
playing games, and watching the movie "The Polar Express".

We took a pretend ride on the magical train and we
were so excited to hear the ringing of bells.

Little did we know that the magic was right in our classroom!
We found bell necklaces under our chairs!

Every student had the true Christmas Spirit!

What a great day!
Book, train whistle, golden ticket and a bell.
Can't wait till Santa comes 'cause we've been oh so good!

Christmas Makes Me Smile!

You know Dasher and Dancer. . .
We had a wonderful season singing the songs of Christmas!
Students voted for their favorite song and (yep, you guessed it)

RUDOLPH the RED-NOSED REINDEER!

The Gingerbread Man

Run, run as fast as you can. . .
The month of December is here and we will
be enjoying lots of great books.
We read many versions of the story of the
"Gingerbread Man". It was fun to compare
the similarities and the differences in each.

The Kindergarten classes were in charge of the bulletin board in the
main entrance of our school. Look at our darling gingerbread kids!
We did a fabulous job painting!

We made a gingerbread man glyph - see the instructions below.
What can you find out about each gingerbread man and the student who painted it?

My Five Senses Make Me Smile!

Learning about the five senses is always one of our
favorite topics during the year.
We make a book, play games
and smell delicious smells.

I wish I would have taken more pics - especially of the students smelling
different items in a small baggie. Their facial expressions were PRICELESS!

FRIENDS MAKE US SMILE!

It is always a wonderful day when we get to enjoy a little inside play time.
The weather has been very cold and snowy, so we took time to choose
a friend and have some fun!

Playing with the puppets is something new!
The students had just as much fun
watching the show as being the presenter.

Please leave a comment for the kiddos and I will read it to them!
This could be as fun as getting mail!

Fall Makes Us Smile!

Here we are making faces for the camera!
See the two new cuties? Mrs. Topham brought new friends -
her granddaughters!

Can you guess the names of all these cuties?
I love seeing the wonderful costumes and matching the
child to the character they have chosen to dress-up as for
H-A-L-L-O-W-E-E-N!

We just had to get our picture together!

Halloween centers included cookie decorating.
The kiddos really enjoyed frosting and creating!
Of course eating was high on the list of "LIKES", too.

We had Halloween playdoh center, art center and game center.
The day was filled with lots of fun and laughter!

Sparky Makes Us Smile!

Sparky is making sure Mrs. Topham gets all
the gear on correctly. This equipment weighs a ton -
it must take lots of muscle and hard work to be a firefighter!
Thank you firefighters for all you do to
keep our community safe.

Touring the safety house is always great fun and informational.

Fire Safety Fun!

We learned never to play with matches, 911
and STOP DROP and ROLL!

Picture taking time with the "old"
fire engine! Still works and everything!

We are curious and always want to learn more and more!
Who has a question?

Fire Safety Makes Us Smile!

We learned so much when we toured the
Cedar City Fire Station.
The big engine was so cool. We saw the lights, ladders
and hoses. Did you know that there is a special hose just for the
exhaust to go through when the engine is inside the bay?

Kindergarten Fire Fighters!

Hurry, Hurry Find the Fire!
Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

Pizza Makes Us Smile!

Did you know that pizza is Huggly Monsters favorite food?

We learned new songs about pizza and monsters.
Our favorite is "If You're a Monster and You Know It."
The best part sung by kindergarten kids is the roar!
Made us laugh and laugh during singing time!
Make-believe is great fun.

"There is a treat I like to eat and Pizza is it's name-o. . ."
Your child will break into song if you just say those words.
YUM YUM

Monsters Make Us Smile!

This week in Kindergarten we explored the world
of make-believe in the books we read.

Big Green Monster was one of the fun books we read.
We even made our own version of the book and
learned the sight word "the".

We created monsters in the style of Tedd Arnold.
He is the author of many books, including Huggly the monster!
Tedd Arnold uses scribbles to make his monsters look realistic.
We loved using scribbles when making our monsters!

Here are some of the Huggly books we read this week.
Huggly likes to explore the people world.
Kindergarten Kiddos can really relate, because we
like to explore the people world, too!
