Got Healthy Teeth? YES!

The assistants from the dentist office visited our class!
We were so excited to learn about keeping our teeth
strong and healthy.
 FLOSS!
 BRUSH!
Eat good foods that help fight against cavities and. . .
Remember. . . the dentist is your friend!

Polar Bears

We love learning about the world around us.
We took a pretend trip to the Arctic and found out
how polar bears stay warm in such a frigid place.
Did you know that polar bears have a layer of
BLUBBER under their skin?
Blubber protects the bear when swimming in icy water.
Polar bears have huge feet, that act like snowshoes.
This keeps the bear from sinking into the snow when walking.
Polar bears have interesting fur.  Each hair is hollow like
a straw.  The warmth of the sun is trapped in each hair
and held close to the bear's body for heat.
A polar bear has black skin.  It helps to
keep it warm!
 Our Blubber experiment was amazing.
Our hand stayed warmer when placed in the
Blubber Glove.

Time to Read "The Mitten"

This year we had so much fun acting out the story
The Mittern!
The students chose a animal puppet from the story and. . .
then crawled in the BIG mitten!
We loved when the bear sneezes and all the animals
tumble out onto the snow. (or in our case, the carpet)
The mitten in the snow, the mitten in the snow
Help us please, so we won't freeze!
I just love these little actors!

Christmas Party!

Hop Aboard the "Polar Express"

 Covered cardboard boxes were
magically transformed into train cars.
Of course all this happened with the
creative help of my cute kiddos!
All this took place in anticipation of party day-
when we would take a pretend trip to the North Pole!

Reindeer getting ready for the big day!
Hey Rudolph- your nose is very bright!

Won't you guide my sleigh tonight?

Then how the reindeer loved her- as they
shouted out with glee!
